Job Description

Reporting to the VP you manage the ROI performance of a global business unit. You take pride in bringing the department to a higher level by sharing best practices and creating an atmosphere that drives teamwork, efficiency and results. You provide leadership and support to the organization to keep its promises and meeting its strategic and financial targets. As business partner you focus on bringing the business to the next level and you challenge senior management and budget holders to maximize financial performance. You align, execute and improve efficient management control: business control, KPI setting, transparency of margins and costs, budget control and financial performance analysis. Your varied brief includes leading the budget, forecasting and financial planning processes as well as managing the performance reporting and review cycle of the business unit. With your sharp analysis of key revenue and cost drivers you provide commerce with profitability, risk analyses and financial input for tenders and investment proposals for projects. Promoting teamwork you lead, motivate and coach your department. You team up with management to support asset planning and scheduling of repair and maintenance activities with adequate time lines and controls to optimize performance against contract. Also you monitor execution of operating contracts against agreed objectives and you closely control the OPEX and CAPEX program and spent. Utilizing your business judgment and interpersonal skills you influence management to take appropriate actions and you actively liaise with legal on contract and claims issues. You present independent and information based views to set exceptional performance; driving transparency, value creation and benchmarks to support business unit strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in business economics/finance. Post-graduate Controlling is an asset.
• 7 – 10 years business controlling experience in a performance driven business. Managerial experience in an international environment is a strong plus.
• Demonstrable experience in business control of international projects / operating agreements. Solid track record of successful delivery against contract.
• Strong customer focus, business judgment and interpersonal skills. Ability to see the big picture, can focus on detail when necessary.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills; managing team performance and resolving issues.
• Taskmaster with outstanding project management skills; proactively managing work through to completion, within deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and conceptual capabilities; assessing value & risks,  improving transparency and driving efficiency.
• Fluent English and Dutch, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to travel when required (approximately 25%)
