Energetic International Director of Operations
Job Description
As member of the regional MT, you report directly to the Managing Director Europe & Asia. Overseeing the complexity of a multi site environment, you provide direction and leadership to all staff in Operations, which includes Manufacturing, Sourcing, Engineering, Service and Supply Chain. In this challenging role you drive the performance objectives, asset utilization and cost efficiency of the sites. You take ownership for bringing operations up to standards to assure safety and reliability in compliance with local and global standards. As a leader and role model you promote continuous improvement and cost saving programs that ensure world class standards and performance. You secure production resources against timing, quality and budget targets. Your brief also includes the management and facilitation of new business development by working with sales and marketing and communicating with respective teams. You embrace global product development, optimize costs, secure the availability of supplies and manage quality and service requirements. Taking pride in your employees, you energize them to seize opportunities and excel as a team. With a passion for process improvement and operational excellence you share best practices across disciplines, build successful teams and keep team spirit high even under stressful conditions. As member of the Management Team you play a key role in developing strategic opportunities, building the business case for (CAPEX) projects and managing people, assets and budgets. Your vision and implementation skills impress in a demanding environment.
Requirements
- University degree in relevant field, e.g. Mechanical Engineering. MBA is a plus.
- Some 15 years of progressive experience in an international technical production environment and in the field of strategic procurement
- Demonstrated experience in leading multiple technical, logistical and sourcing departments
- People manager with strong focus on customers, organization and employees to achieve maximum result
- Excellent communication skills and global team player
- Sense of urgency and integrity, a ‘can do’ mentality and hands-on approach; proactive and decisive
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, implement change and drive results through people
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally (10% of time)
- Excellent command of Dutch and English; some German is preferred
