Job Description
You provide contractual and commercial support by managing and administrating all main contract activities on projects in a timely, quality focused and budget driven way. Utilizing your prior experience in contracts, you prepare new contracts as from the tendering stage up to and including award and close out, working closely together with the Tender Team and the Project Team. You are able to maximize the value of the contracts, both with clients and (sub)contractors. Your varied brief also includes setting the project specific contract strategy, e.g. bidders list and terms & conditions. With relentless energy you manage multiple disciplines and responsibilities and you provide commercial advice to the Project Manager. In preparation of contracts, either for tender or project purposes, you compile all required information from other departments, e.g. tender, engineering, planning, procurement and you issue invitations to tender. Moreover, you evaluate and negotiate both commercial and contractual issues and co-ordinate technical evaluations of the received tenders. You organize and chair clarification meetings, participate in Tender Board and kick-off meetings and assist in meetings with the client. Furthermore, you are responsible for accurate administration, follow-up and close-out of the (sub)contracts. You guide and support Quantity Surveyors and Contracts Engineers assigned to the projects and you interface with different departments and project teams. Being a true team player you inspire and support peers and also ensure commitments are met. You are able to present independent, information based views to high-level management and set an exceptional performance.
Requirements
- A graduate degree in a technical field (e.g. Mechanical, Naval) or in law (preferably with technical knowledge)
- At least 10 years proven experience in a similar role
- To be a self-motivated individual who is able to work without direct supervision
- To be a team player and organizer
- To be a skilled negotiator, with excellent communication and commercial skills and an eye for detail
- To be stress resistant, confident and articulate
- To be fluent in written and spoken English
- To be willing to travel and work abroad when required
